Mo Boma - "Walk Like a Pygmy"

"Walk Like A Pygmy" appeared on the, 'Myths Of The Near Future Part One', the first instalment of a three part series, released in 1994, on 'Extreme'... founded by Ülex Xane in January 1985, the label released numerous cassettes, many of them by Australian artists, but others by early power electronics artists from around the world.
Over the course of 1987, Ülex transfered the label to Roger Richards, who continues to run the label. In 1989, the distinctive cover layout of the releases was begun. Some of the most successful artists that have worked extensively with Extreme include Merzbow, Muslimgauze, and Paul Schütze.

Artist personnel: The duo known as Mo Boma (named after a pygmy girl's lullaby), is comprised of Carsten Tiedemann, a native of Germany, and Skuli Sverrisson, of Iceland, both of whom attended Berklee College of Music in Boston. Tiedemann's studies in classical composition structures and ethnic music traditions feature prominently in Mo Boma's style, which uses electronic music to create a ethereal, multi-textured sound that builds around Sverrisson's electric bass core. Sverrisson's own experience as a jazz bassist and improvisational musician also makes a major impact on Mo Boma's sound. Jamshied Sharifi [Iranian-born composer, musician, and music producer] worked with Mo Boma on all 4 project releases, [Jijimuge & Myths Of The Near Future Part's One - Three], playing various instruments, Synthesizer, Drones, Bells, Effects as well as Engineering.
