In this video, Andy and I continue our journey down the river Røa in the Femundsmarka national park in Norway. This was one of the most physically gruelling days of my life - dragging, lining and carrying the canoes and all our gear for kilometres along stretches of rapid that we could not paddle due to low water levels or just the shear force of the water cascading down the river.
The sections that we did paddle seemed short, but were a welcome relief after all the physical effort both in and out of the water. As Andy said, it was like hiking, but with canoes and barrels!
Our camp spot that night was a welcome sight and we both hit the hay early after changing into dry clothes and wolfing down some dinner - what a day!
I hope you enjoy the video,
Thanks for watching.
