Tesla and Ford shocked the EV industry with some of the best news to come from Tesla since the beginning of Elon's Twitter acquisition. Tesla is opening their charging station network to Ford EV owners. The current issue is that Teslas and Fords use completely different charging hardware to plug the vehicle into a station. So for now, existing Ford owners will receive a special adaptor to make their cars compatible with Tesla stations. Ford EVs that are manufactured moving forward will have Tesla's hardware built-in.
This is great for both Tesla and Ford. For Ford owners, they'll now have 12,000 more supercharger stations across the U.S. and Canada (which will alleviate the limitations of having to use non-Tesla stations outside of their homes).
