We’ve heard a lot of talk around the idea of a just transition, so as Canada accelerates towards a future-fit energy system, we need to hone in on this inclusive and equitable vision for Alberta communities. In this Big Ideas for #OurEnergyFuture event, Kelley Thompson welcomed Steve Saddleback, Director of the National Energy Business Centre of Excellence (NEBCE) at the Indian Resource Council, to discuss Truth & Reconciliation in Canada’s energy development. As a member of Treaty 6 from the Samson Cree Nation, Steve shared his insights on how Alberta’s energy sector can contribute to a just transition and build lasting relationships with Indigenous entrepreneurs and community members.
