Listen to Primordial Radio 24/7 - links.primordialradio.com/listen | Polyphia has confirmed their new album will feature collaborations from Babymetal and Serj Tankian of System of a Down.
Guitarist Tim Henson recently spoke with Guitar World, revealing that the new record will be significantly heavier than their last, Remember That You Will Die. This shift is driven by the challenges of making their intricate compositions translate well in massive live performances. According to Henson, the band is working on custom-built guitars to push creative boundaries, ensuring their music feels just as powerful on stage as it does in the studio.
Polyphia is also gearing up for some huge collaborations, Henson confirmed that they’ve already finished a second Babymetal collab (for their album) and are working on one for their own record. Meanwhile, the Serj Tankian feature is already locked in for the new album.
Fans got a taste of Polyphia and Babymetal’s chemistry when they performed Brand New Day together in Tokyo last summer. Plus, the band is set to open for System of a Down on their upcoming North American tour. No release date for the album yet, but with names like these involved, it’s shaping up to be something truly special.
