Organizer: Pioneer Academy – Lifesavers Club
Pioneer Academy’s Lifesavers club lead a school-wide initiative to help students in Tanzania. Together, the community raised over $21,000 and collected boxes of toys and books for other students. 20 students and 4 staff traveled to Tanzania to assist with the building of a school water well, reconstruction of two elementary schools and library as well as bring help to an orphanage. Students organized numerous fundraisers and campaigns to gather donations and engaged all of the stakeholders and created activities to raise awareness about our cause. Pioneer Academy collaborated with two public primary schools and their officials, ensuring the projects were tailored to the community’s needs. This collaboration made sure that the solutions were not just temporary fixes but long-term benefits. The project exemplifies the essence of the UN Sustainable Development Goals: fostering sustainable peace, promoting education, and improving quality of life. This initiative is a testament to the power of youth-driven change and the impact of collective action.
