For Cars.com’s 2024 Full-Size Pickup Truck Challenge, we gathered high-end, crew-cab, short-box versions of the 2024 Ford F-150, 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 and 2025 Ram 1500 that were priced from around $87,000 to $90,000. Our judges for this comparison were Managing Editor Joe Bruzek, Detroit Bureau Chief Aaron Bragman and Road Test Editor Brian Normile.
They drove each of the trucks back-to-back on the same drive loop to assess overall driving performance, comfort, usability, interior quality and more. Additionally, we took the trucks on a roughly 200-mile drive route — twice — to see what kind of gas mileage they get in the real world with and without a 20-foot travel trailer hitched to them. We spent a day at the drag strip measuring acceleration and braking performance with and without roughly 1,000 pounds of payload in each truck’s bed. We also rated child-safety-seat fitment and scored safety features and value for the money. Here’s how they finished when the scores were tallied:
1. 2025 Ram 1500 Tungsten
2. 2024 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali Ultimate
3. 2024 Ford F-150 Platinum
