Sydney Fazende purchased this one bedroom 472 sq ft apartment on a tree lined street in SoHo, New York, seven years ago. Immediately entering the home, you sense Sydney's joy and talent for hosting; she's created a warm but minimal home where every detail is thoughtful, elegant and welcoming.

Although the living space is narrow, like many SoHo townhouse apartments, she didn't shy away from oversized, plush furniture. She specifically invested in pieces that allow her to work, lounge and entertain comfortably. The custom dining table and work bench is a perfect example of her attention to detail. What WE Make created the beautiful piece for Sydney so that the table was perfect for 3 distinct purposes. It's counter height so she can easily use to surface to prep meals next to her small kitchen counter. The suede and wood chairs are designed to be comfortable for long periods of time so Sydney can comfortably work from home, and the table is extra wide, ideal for hosting meals with friends and family.

In her bedroom, Sydney used the same Farrow & Ball wall color (Dimity) found in the primary living space. But, the space is noticeably more feminine, soft and minimal, in the most elevated way. Her nightstand is also a small dresser; with her clothes discreetly organized in a built-in closet unit, there is nothing unnecessary left cluttering the space.

The most difficult riddle of the apartment was the 20 sq ft bathroom where the sink is fixed in the corner of the shower. After much thought and planning, Sydney remodeled the bathroom but decided to keep the sink in the shower and finds it an endearing quirk not a drawback. We're so inspired by how healthy and happy your home is today! Thank you for sharing it's coming of age story with us, Sydney!
