If you enter the parking lot of Naejangsan Cable Car into the navigation, Naejangsa Temple and Hwajeong Pavilion are close and you can easily ride a cable car.
Naejangsa Temple is said to have been founded by Yeongeun Temple in the 37th year (636 AD) of King Mu of Baekje, and there was a time when about 50 Daegwalam were built, but both of them were destroyed during the Jeongyu Rebellion and the Korean War, and most of the current temples were rebuilt after that.
It is a representative temple in North Jeolla Province along with Geumsan Temple. The mountain peaks of Naejangsan Mountain are located in the middle of a folding screen, so the scenery is beautiful, especially around the temple when autumn leaves bloom. Baekyangsa Temple, Bangjangsan Mountain, Jangseongho Lake, and Damyangho Lake are nearby, and the main cultural properties include Naejangsa Ijo Lantern. (Photo date: January 2024)
It is the same type of the late Joseon Dynasty in Naejangsa Temple, and has a general style seen in the late Goryeo Dynasty. After Naejangsa Temple was rebuilt, it was moved from Borimsa Temple in Jeollanam-do. At the end of the Japanese colonial period, it was hidden in Wonjeokam (圓寂庵) to avoid the supply of brass, and during the Korean War, it was evacuated to a propaganda hall in downtown Jeongeup to preserve it. The characteristics of the Buddhist sect in the late Joseon Dynasty are well shown, with a small size of 80 cm in height, 60 cm in life length, and 50 cm in diameter. It was designated as a tangible cultural property in Jeonbuk. It takes the form of turning over a kimchi jar. The pear part (鐘腹), the gyeondae (肩帶), and the old age (口緣帶) were also clearly identified, and four 乳廓 were placed on the pattern table.
