2024 Maharashtra Assembly Election Results: BJP-Led Mahayuti Heads For Historic Win
In India, the vote counting for the 2024 Maharashtra Assembly election is underway. The BJP-led Mahayuti, comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena (Eknath Shinde faction), and Ajit Pawar-led NCP, is leading in 229 seats out of a total of 288. The opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) alliance, consisting of the Congress party, Shiv Sena (Uddhav Balasaheb Thackeray), and NCP (Sharad Pawar) faction, is ahead in 54 seats. Candidates from other parties are leading in 5 seats. Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde thanked the voters for the alliance’s “landslide victory”. Maharashtra Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis said the next CM face will be decided by alliance partners.
