The Malachowski class starship was created for Star Trek Discovery and is another of those ships that emerged to fill the era between Enterprise and the original series, square nacelles and all. However it was not fantastic an any particular field except in being a decent combat vessel and escort cruiser. Let's take a look at the first backbone of the Federation.
