So welcome to this new series The Death Of The High Street, where we will be wandering all over the United Kingdom look at the abandoned and boarded up streets and town centres.

I am hoping for 8 episodes in this series and I want it to be an interactive series with you, the audience. I want you to point me in directions of thins to explore and check out. So do let me know...

What is your town centre like?

Is is thriving or dying?

How do you do your shopping? Is it all online?

It doesn't take long to come across an area suffering from the changing face of retail. In this film I visit Halifax which is the nearest big town to where I live. It does have a big problem with boarded up and empty shops, and lots of big abandoned buildings. But it is also doing quite a lot of things right, so I look into them as well.

I visit the market, and also a giant supermarket, and see how these are also taking trade away from the high street, as well as a few other places near me where the high street is actually doing ok. I also came across loads of abandoned pubs which is always sad.
