This is an anti-rotational movement that helps us generate more stability in our core when controlling weight/ counter movements.
Simply tuck our hips under our ribs (imagine tucking a tail between the legs), keep our chest up, and press out from our chest. We are fighting that bands anchor point from pulling us towards it, thus causing more work for our abs to stabilize.
