《九儿》, the theme song from the movie 红高粱, tells of our heroine’s tale through the building intensity of the music. The Jiaozhou Yangge style features twisting and bending highlighted through the circular movements of the fan and silk handkerchief.

“Wu” represents the connection between Chinese dance & Chinese martial arts — 舞（wǔ）means dance & 武 （wǔ）means martial arts.
UC Berkeley Fei Tian Dancers (FTD), Cal Wushu, and Cal VSA Lion Dance presented a joint end-of-the-semester showcase for the Spring 2022 Semester! Similar to our previous Fall 2021 joint showcase, “Wu” showcased a wide range of Chinese dance & martial arts performances, celebrating cultural diversity & sharing our hard work throughout the semester.
