In 1877, the German geologist Ferdinand von Richthofen first referred to the prosperous trade route that had flourished for over a thousand years as the "Silk Road." German young man Chris came to the Silk Road, experiencing the ancient trade of silk, tea, and porcelain along the ancient Shu Road, as well as the modern exports of electric vehicles, photovoltaic panels, and batteries — carried by the China-Europe Railway Express. This journey allowed him to witness China's centuries-long attitude of openness to the outside world and the vibrant practice of the shared destiny of the global community.
