During the War in Ukraine, there is perhaps no city that has seen as much combat as Bakhmut. Over a period of 5 months, Russia and Ukraine have been locked in a difficult battle, with Vladimir Putin unwilling to relent, no matter the cost.
The result has been a catastrophic number of casualties for the Russian military, with over 100,000 estimated during the Battle of Bakhmut.
