Founded in 2021, sundayspecial is a four-piece Alternative/Rock band from Southern Manila. With a combination of overdriven guitars, sharp dynamics, and honest lyrics, sundayspecial builds a rich tapestry of rock-tinged melody and energy, combined with a sense of youthful optimism.
It started as a side project by Dedek Mongalo and Hen Luce (from the band WeeFee) in late 2019. as the pandemic strikes in 2020, the two didn't stop making music as they continue to find the sound that they want and getting it done.
On March 2021, Mongalo recruited his former bandmates Sherwin Capanzana (Venous Return/Manila Under Fire) and Marvin Tad-y (Aspen Way) as they formed the band sundayspecial. The band continues to express their passion through their powerful overdriven, melodic and lyrically honest music.
