This man formed a cult and exploited countless women, using them for his own strange sexual fantasies. But some say that the cult leader had other, much stranger reasons for creating this bizarre belief system… They say he was lonely and just wanted someone to play volleyball with.
Keith Raniere was the leader of a cult known as NXIVM, which had 700 members at its peak. NXIVM was founded back in 1998, but it wouldn’t be until 2017 when rumors began to circulate about the devastating abuse that was taking place within the cult. Countless women have spoken out against Keith Raniere, claiming he sexually manipulated them, kept them as slaves, and even branded some of them, essentially claiming them as his property.
While it’s pretty obvious that Keith’s true intentions here were of a sexual nature, Keith had other demons he was hiding as well. See, all of his cult members were forced to play volleyball with him as well, with some suggesting that this took place so often that they began to wonder if the cult wasn’t formed as a sexual fantasy at all… but rather, because Keith was so lonely and just wanted someone to play ball with him.
In the end, Keith was sent to prison for life for his crimes against women, as well as various other offenses… but this may not be a big deal for him, because most prisoners love playing volleyball.
