“From Scientist to CEO”
Caltech science writer Lori Dajose (BS '15) moderates a conversation between Jess Adkins, the Smits Family Professor of Geochemistry and Global Environmental Science and CEO of oceanic carbon sequestration start-up Calcarea; and Julie Schoenfeld, Caltech's entrepreneur in residence for physical sciences. Discussion topics include the process of taking an idea from the lab into the commercial sector, the learning curve involved with running a company after working in academia, and the ways in which Caltech can assist entrepreneurs across campus.
