Paid Verification: Facebook and Instagram's $12 'Blue Check' Experiment - WTE
Meta, following in the footsteps of Twitter, has announced that users of Facebook and Instagram would soon be required to pay to become verified on the social networking sites.
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, revealed on Sunday via a Facebook post that the service would initially launch later this week in Australia and New Zealand.
Meta Verified starts at $11.99 / month on web or $14.99 / month on iOS. We'll be rolling out in Australia and New Zealand this week and more countries soon.
