The main reason for this is so that the sun travels from side to side of the castle, and not front to back.

This helps to prevent harsh shadows from falling on the castle as well as prevent it from being backlit or having harsh light from the front.

This also helps to prevent guests from being blinded when they look at the castle or from having the sun in their face when they take a photo in front of it!
