How to Maximize the Volume of a Box, Calculus Optimization

IB Math Standard Level Analysis and Approaches with the Oxford Text, Topic 5, calculus. I go over a classic calculus problem on optimization. Create a volume function, take the derivative of that function and set the derivative to zero to see find the maximum or minimum of the slope. Take the second derivative to see if it is a max or min. Maximizing volume of a box.
00:10 IB Math SL AA Topic 5 Calculus, Optimization
00:32 The problem: can you maximize the volume in this box
00:57 My volume function f(x)=4x^3-12x^2+9x
03:24 Taking the first derivative and setting it equal to zero
06:04 Get two solutions but do not know if they are max or mins
06:31 Take the second derivative, if positive opens up, meaning it will be a minimum
9:02 Looking at it graphically in Desmos or a GDC, graphing calculator
