In this reaction, we explore the life-changing journey of becoming a Gurkha! These elite warriors from Nepal are known for their incredible dedication, with only 4% of applicants making it into the British military. For Lindsay, this was her first time learning about the Gurkhas and the extraordinary challenges they face to achieve this dream.
Leaving their families and risking everything they have, these young men show an unshakable determination to join the ranks of the British Army. Most come from farming communities, where becoming a Gurkha is a path to a successful, well-paid career with a true sense of purpose.
It’s impossible not to feel emotional watching them call their families to share the news that they’ve made it. What an incredible feeling of accomplishment that must be!
