The Mickey Voorhees commission build is moving into the painting stage, and this creepy 3D printed horror mashup is starting to come to life! In this update, I used liquid mask to protect the gloves and shirt while painting the dark gray blue jacket and arms. The liquid mask worked well on flat surfaces, but compound curves were a challenge—especially when hand-painting those tiny black stripes.
Once the jacket and arms were sealed with a clear coat, I moved on to his dark golden brown pants. I opted for brush painting instead of airbrushing to avoid masking everything off again—sometimes the simplest methods work best. His boots are getting a base coat of dark umber, which will serve as the foundation for more weathering effects later on.
This build is a true blend of cartoon nostalgia and horror iconography, showing how far 3D printing and custom painting can take a project. If you're a fan of horror mashups, custom resin prints, or unique model builds, be sure to like, comment, and subscribe to follow along with the entire journey!
