Also referred to as "The old man lost his horse," I became familiar with this story via the Bluey episode "The Sign." The story is one of the most famous parables from the Huainanzi, dating back to the 2nd century B.C. It is an example of the Taoist view of fortune/misfortune.
This story hit me hard when dealing with some challenges I have been facing over the past few months that I discuss in the related video to this short.
