Plot :
In 1840, Ameeran, a young girl from Faizabad, is kidnapped by Dilawar Khan, who seeks revenge on her father. Ameeran is sold to a kotha in Lucknow, where she is adopted and raised by Khannum Jaan. As she grows, she becomes the elegant Umrao Jaan, learning the art of being a tawaif. She falls in love with Nawab Sultan Khan, but their love is shattered when his father disowns him. Heartbroken, Umrao moves on but is betrayed by Faiz Ali, a dacoit. After enduring more betrayal and rejection, Umrao returns to Lucknow, where she lives out her days in solitude, finding solace in her poetry.
