Why do I sketch subjects from a distance?

Sometimes, the opportunity to observe from afar provides a unique perspective that enhances my drawings. There are moments when approaching the subject closely is not feasible due to crowded or chaotic surroundings, or the desired angle is only achievable from a distance.
Sitting outside architectural spaces, I find serene spots to observe and choose subjects with beautiful proportions for sketching. Simplifying the subject and using shading and varying line thickness brings depth and life to the drawing.
Drawing from a distance may omit certain details, which can be a weakness, but it often results in a more accurate portrayal of dimensions and proportions, eliminating unnecessary elements. This approach can lead to a simpler yet complete presentation.
