It was definitely worth a detour to spend the morning FORAGING FOR FOOD with our new friends, Alan and Tata of NO TASTE LIKE HOME! When Jared mentioned this idea of a FORAGING TOUR in NORTH CAROLINA I was so excited! What a unique experience for the kids to learn how to identify WILD EDIBLES! We had such a great time and we learned so much. To top it all off, we found TONS of EDIBLE MUSHROOMS (and some that are not edible of course!) and we had the time to cook them together in the beautiful mountains of ASHEVILLE NORTH CAROLINA.
I know I say this a lot but this is my new favorite UNIQUE EXPERIENCE we've had in all of our states visits. If you ever get the opportunity to spend a day with NO TASTE LIKE HOME, TAKE IT!!
Extra special thanks to Alan and Tata. They were so patient with the kids questions and the fact that we knew absolutely nothing about MUSHROOMS and other WILD EDIBLES.
