Recipe:
1 loaf of bread sourdough, challah, brioche, etc
6 large eggs
½ cup heavy cream
1 cup milk
¼ cup brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
Pinch of nutmeg
1 tsp vanilla extract
Pinch of salt

Streusel Topping:
3 tbsp butter at room temperature
¼ cup brown sugar
½ cup AP flour
¼ tsp cinnamon
Pinch of nutmeg
Pinch of salt


Instructions:
1. Cut bread into 1” cubes, and apple into bite size pieces
2. Mix eggs, cream, milk, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla, and salt together, whisk well
3. Add bread, apple, and egg mixture together, toss to combine and allow bread to absorb liquid
4. Load into greased baking dish, cover with plastic wrap, and store in the fridge for 2 to 24 hours
5. Mix all ingredients for streusel topping well until combined. You can add more flour or add oatmeal to make a dryer topping if you prefer
6. Remove French toast bake from fridge, remove plastic wrap, toss to distribute any remaining egg mixture, sprinkle top evenly with streusel, and bake uncovered at 350F for 45-50 minutes
7. Let sit about 10 minutes before cutting
