The Boorabbin Memorial commemorates the three truck drivers who sadly lost their lives in December 2007, when a terrible bushfire raged along the Great Eastern Highway.
Only now, many years later, is the burnt vegetation finally maturing, with some species of large shrubs and trees beginning to flower again.
The walk to the stone is located about 120km West of Kalgoorlie along the Great Eastern Highway.
The three truck drivers were allowed to go through a road block, but were overcome and perished further along the road.
A permanent memorial was constructed in 2010, and three white crosses were also erected on the highway near where the men died a few kms further West
There is a short walk to the memorial stone a few hundred metres off the highway.
There's also a gazebo which contains some information about the drivers and the tragedy itself.
It's a nice break from driving, and a stark reminder of how terrible fires can be in Australia.
