Have you ever heard of Pidgin English? These ladies tell me they are speaking "English," but I cannot understand a word that comes out of their mouths! Can you?
It's called Pidgin English or "Broken English" -- and it's a creole-dialect that's commonly spoken in Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon. I realize that I am in Gabon right now (a French-speaking nation), but these ladies are all of Cameroonian descent.
Have you ever heard about Pidgin English? It's fun to listen to these people speak... until they ask you a question and you feel dumb not being able to respond!
