Ingredients:
2 tablespoons oil
1 teaspoon cumin seeds
1 large capsicum, sliced
1 large onion, sliced
1 tablespoon garlic paste
1 teaspoon red chilli powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
1 teaspoon coriander powder
2 tomatoes, pureed
1 teaspoon soy sauce (optional)
2 tablespoons tomato ketchup
1 tablespoon milk (or cream/malai)
Water, as needed
350g paneer, cut into triangles
Salt, to taste
1/2 teaspoon garam masala
Instructions:
Prepare the Base: Heat oil in a wok over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle.
Cook Vegetables: Add sliced capsicum and onion. Cook for a few minutes until the onions become translucent. Stir in the garlic paste.
Add Spices: Sprinkle in the red chilli powder, black pepper powder, turmeric powder, and coriander powder. Mix well.
Incorporate Sauces: Pour in the tomato purée, mix thoroughly, then add soy sauce (if using) and tomato ketchup. Stir well.
Creaminess and Water: Add 1 tablespoon of milk (or cream/malai) and mix. Adjust the consistency by adding water as needed.
Add Paneer: Gently fold in the paneer triangles, ensuring they are well coated with the masala. Add salt to taste and garam masala.
Final Cooking: Let the mixture simmer until the water evaporates and the gravy thickens to your desired consistency.
