2016 - A Year Of Gliding Adventure

2016 was a huge year of travelling and adventure for me!
Travelling to Aboyne, Portmoak, Issoudun (France), Lasham, Wattisham, Tibenham, Rattlesden, Bicester, Hus Bos aswell as doing a lot of flying from my home club at Essex & Suffolk.

I managed to do about 150 hours last year split between 4 types of glider. Most of the hours were gained flying an LS8 (15m) and my ASW15B. It would be hard and unfair to choose my best experience however the opportunity i was most grateful for was being invited out to Issoudun to fly the local 41e International' to join the British Junior Development team which was full of pilots that were well above my skill set.

At the end of the year (On my birthday infact) I did my 1st Diamond height which ended up having 5 of us up at 22,500ft-23,000ft. Then the next day we had a replay of the day before and after landing swiftly moving onto another site just south of Aboyne in Scotland called Portmoak were we joined up with the rest of our UK Junior Gliding friends for a few days playing on the ridge.
