In 2020, because of the Covid 19 crisis, my team and I decided to do a special virtual fundraiser concert which live-streamed on December 22. For the past few years I’ve been celebrating my birthday with a special group of young girls from a safe haven in Marillac Hills, Alabang— a rehabilitation center for young women which caters to the abused or exploited. In December, we entitled the event “Safe Place” because this was something most everyone could relate to. Today, I’m still grateful for another year. Our goal with this re-airing of SAFE PLACE in 2021 is still to give back, celebrate life, and be able to uplift others in this season with music—together with my special guests: Curtis Smith, Ruby Ibarra, Over October and my dad Gary V. We hope to be able to do our part in helping our local community especially at a time when it is needed most.
