This lecture attempts to comprehensively cover Article 352(1), which deals with grounds necessary for proclamation of emergency. Article 352(3) which deals with special requirement of having written communication from cabinet before proclamation is issed by President. 352(4) which deals with process of approval by two houses, the requirements of approval within one month by both houses with the majority of membership and majority of two third of members present and voting under Article 352(6). The lecture also covers the special powers of Lok Sabha to initiate process of passing of resolution to revoke the emergency and requirements of holding special session within 14 days of receiving of notice from one tenth of the members of Lok Sabha under Article 352(7) and 352(8).
