It’s truly disturbing to witness Islamophobic remarks like these on mainstream media. Comments like "I hope your beeper doesn't go off" are not only blatantly racist but also dehumanizing, reinforcing harmful stereotypes, and deepening prejudice against Muslims.
The fact that such voices find airtime on platforms like CNN reflects a troubling normalization of inflammatory rhetoric.
While it’s a step in the right direction that CNN has decided not to invite this guest back, the harm from such rhetoric lingers, especially when given a national stage. We need accountability from media outlets to ensure they’re not providing platforms for hatred under the guise of commentary. Only by calling out and refusing to tolerate this kind of language can we hope to foster a more respectful and inclusive public discourse.
