Baby Shower in Indian Tradition
Baby Shower in Indian tradition is mainly done to pray for baby’s safe birth and to celebrate a pregnant woman’s upcoming joy of motherhood
Baby Shower usually takes place in the final trimester around the seventh or ninth month of pregnancy. The pregnant woman wears her wedding silk saree, jewels, and flower garland around her neck for the ceremony. She will also wear red and green bangles made of glass.
The ladies who attend the ceremony sing many songs praising father, mother, and lullabies for the baby. The family and friends shower the pregnant woman with gifts for herself and for her expected bundle of joy.
