Sultanpur Lodhi : Another inter-state heroin smuggling racket busted; 2 held

The Counter-Intelligence Wing, Jalandhar, has busted an inter-state racket of heroin smuggling and confiscated 1-kg contraband from the Sultanpur Lodhi area of Kapurthala by arresting two persons.

The accused have been identified as Gurvinder Singh of Noorpur Hakima village in Dharamkot, Moga, and his associate Ranjit Singh, a resident of Mehatpur in Jalandhar.
In a release, AIG, Counter Intelligence, Harkamalpreet Singh Khakh said they received a tip-off that Gurvinder Singh, who has links with Delhi-based Nigerian smugglers, was today procuring a big heroin consignment in a Tata Sumo (PB29-P8895) with his associate Ranjit Singh.

Khakh shared this information with Kapurthala SSP Satinder Singh, and a joint team of Counter-Intelligence Wing and a team from Sultanpur Lodhi police station was set up and moved to search the area.
