Tonor Professional Studio Condenser Microphone Review - Don't Buy An Expensive Mic

So today are doing a TONOR Professional Studio Condenser Microphone Review (aka BM-700) which is the best low budget microphone for youtube beginners, for gaming and for streaming for 3 reasons; the price, the sound quality and all the accessories included as a whole kit for everything you need for amazing audio quality on a budget.

The main microphone itself is made out of an outer metal casing, and actually feels quite premium for the price. The silver and black colour scheme is a classic and looks nice.

This is a cardioid polar patter pick up mic, meaning it will pick up sound best from the front, but not as much from the sides and back.

The arm is the worst thing about this whole kit, it is really poor quality and has no adjustable wing nut, so mounting the microphone is a little fidgety, and you may struggle with getting the mic in the exact position you want, and once you do, you may struggle to adjust it seamlessly. I found a position that works for me, and if I was bothered I would get the tools to maybe tighten this, but it's not a huge problem right now, and certainly not a deal breaker. So either deal with it or get a better quality arm, or simply mount in on a small desktop tripod.

The male to female XLR cable is integrated though the arm, so you wont be able to take it out easily, and plugs into a 48V phantom power brick. Another XLR to 3.5 mm cable outputs from the phantom power brick and plugs into my microphone input of my PC.

The cables are not premium quality, but they do the job. You could also plug the 3.5mm jack into a separate recorder such as the Zoom H1 for better quality audio, as plugging straight into a computer can produce some extra electrical interference noise. If you are using headphones you may be able to discern some electrical interference, but for me its minor, and usually you wont pick it up with normal speakers.

You can use higher quality XLR cable and plug it straight into this Zoom H6 for eg, as this will deliver its own phantom 48V phantom power, and use this an an interface when connected to a pc.

But for me that would defeat the point of this whole kit, since I think it does a good enough job for the price point. There are many things to consider when trying to improve audio quality, such as acoustic treatment, an audio recording booth, cable quality, recording distance, gain input, recording format, and adding post audio effects. Remember that you are a youtuber and not a professional audiophile, so relax. I recently did a video on acoustic treatment, check it out up here and in the description below. Right now though I do not have any acoustic treatment, so this is more real wold application of this microphone.

At this price point I do not have any major gripe about this microphone. There is no gain control on there mic itself, so you have to adjust gain in your recording software, unless you connect this to a mixer of some sort.

So I do use OBS to record videos and stream live on YouTube with this microphone, and also record audio through audacity directly.

I think if you are looking for a cheap setup, which you need to just press record and start producing content, then this whole kit will do just fine, and it will also be difficult to beat the quality of this tonor condenser microphone at this price point.
