Hey guys, today I've compiled chapters from scripture explaining why it is essential to fear God if you want to have a closer relationship with God. We all know that God is our spiritual father and that He loves all of us. However, that does not mean that we should easily disobey Him and ask Him for forgiveness as that would be exploiting His kindness and forgiving nature. But we should all listen to His commandments and act upon it in our lives.
I think it is important to realise that our God created all of the universe and is eternal in nature. As such we should all have fear in Him and take His words seriously.
Also, it is important to note that the fear of the Lord isn't about being scared or terrified of Him in the way one might fear a dangerous situation. Instead, it’s about having a profound respect, reverence, and awe for God, acknowledging His holiness, greatness, and authority.
Proverbs 1: Emphasizes the importance of wisdom and how the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge
Psalm 111: Further emphasises the connection between the fear of the Lord and wisdom. It reinforces the idea that true wisdom begins with reverence for God.
Ecclesiastes 12: Conclusion of a life full of searching for meaning is summed up by the duty to fear God and keep His commandments.
Isaiah 8: Isaiah’s call to fear God rather than man. This helps you see how the fear of the Lord should influence your perspective and actions in the face of challenges.
Psalm 34: Finish with this chapter, which offers a more personal and practical look at the benefits of fearing the Lord, emphasizing that those who fear Him will lack nothing.
