🫁 Tips for Auscultating Lung Sounds
👂Listen directly on the skin with the diaphragm of a stethoscope
👂Listen at the intercostal spaces (the spaces IN between the ribs)
👂Listen to both the anterior & posterior chest & move from left to right, listening top to bottom (comparing sides)
👂Have the patient sit upright (High Fowler’s), arms resting across the lap
👂Instruct the patient to take deep breaths as you listen on inspiration & expiration
