Recipe:
Glaze:
½ of an orange zested
1 cup powdered sugar
1 tbsp orange juice
2 tbsp heavy cream

Scones:
2 ½ cups AP flour
1 tbsp baking powder
¼ tsp salt
4 tbsp white sugar
¾ cup heavy cream
1 large egg
½ tbsp vanilla extract
½ of an orange zested
2/3 cup butter (frozen)
1 cup cranberries


Instructions:
1. Zest and juice the orange
2. Add all glaze ingredients together and mix well
3. Mix flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar, set aside
4. Mix heavy cream, egg, vanilla, and remaining half orange zest, set aside in the fridge until needed
5. Grate frozen butter, and cut into dry ingredients
6. Add wet ingredients into dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Don’t overmix
7. Turn dough onto floured work surface. Press flat and fold, repeating 8-10 times
8. Press the dough into a disk and add cranberries. Press them in, and fold an additional 3-4 times to distribute evenly
9. Press the dough into a 10” disk about 1” thick, cut into 8 pieces, place on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, brush heavy cream on top and bake at 425F for 12-15 minutes
10. Remove and place onto a cooling rack to cool completely
11. Drizzle icing on top. They’re ready to eat now, or let them sit for about 20 minutes to let the icing set
