DIY SpoOky Halloween Sound Maker || Halloween Science Experiments for Kids || Chicken noises

Let’s Have SpoOky Science Fun for Halloween! Today we’ll make a SPoOky Sound Maker! It sounds like a creaky door, or someone walking up some creaky stairs! You can DIY by following along! It's a great activity for kids Halloween parties!

Our puppet friend Charlie explains how the spooky sound maker works. It’s AMPLIFICATION!

When you rub the string, it vibrates. That makes a sound, but the vibrations are too small for us to hear them. But when you tie the string to the cup, the cup AMPLIFIES the sound. Now the vibrations are big enough to hear them!

(here’s a little secret - you can also use this sound maker to make CHICKEN noises! Charlie shows you how at the end of the video)

Here’s what you need to make the spooky sound maker at home:
1 plastic cup
1 piece of string or yarn - a couple of feet long is good
A paperclip
A damp sponge or damp paper towel
Something pointy like a sharp pencil

What would you like Charlie to make next? Tell us in the comments!
