Portland seems to have moved past its shocking run of restaurant losses, when foundational, award-winning establishments such as Beast, Castagna, Clyde Common, Paley’s Place, Pok Pok, Toro Bravo and Xico closed overnight.
But there were still plenty of painful closures in 2024, including several venerable neighborhood restaurants with decades of experience pleasing customers, beloved haunts burned down in overnight fires and a handful of once-beloved chains now running on fumes.
