NIO is developing autonomous driving capabilities for its electric vehicles (EVs) using in-house software and hardware. On today's video we see AES once again being demonstrated on more real situations, which is great. NIO's Automatic Emergency Steering (AES) is a new active safety technology that uses sensors to detect surrounding road conditions and, if necessary, actively steers the vehicle to avoid obstacles, complementing the existing AEB (Automatic Emergency Braking) system. The company's goal is to make driving safer and more relaxing and toady we saw a video of Nio and ONVO cars driving themselves out of the Nio factory, which is a massive step to full autonomous driving.
Hardware
Shenji NX9031
NIO's first in-house-developed autonomous driving chip, which will be used in the ET9 sedan. It's a 5-nanometer chip with over 50 billion transistors.
Adam supercomputer
A supercomputer based on NVIDIA DRIVE Orin that powers automated driving and AI features in NIO EVs.
Software
NIO Assisted and Intelligent Driving
A full-stack capability that includes perception algorithms, localization, control strategy, and platform software.
Sky OS
NIO's proprietary operating system that gives the company central control of all vehicle domains.
Technology roadmap
NIO is developing an advanced driver assistance system called Navigate on Pilot Plus (NOP+) 2.0. NIO is also developing a voice assistant powered by its large language model.
