This is the 3rd Catwoman theme we’ve heard in a Batman movie, following Danny Elfman’s in 1992, and Hans Zimmer’s in 2012. This theme harkens back quite a bit to Elfman’s high-pitched string sounds.
Michael Giacchino’s Catwoman theme is peak femme-fatale music; complete with mysterious, wandering strings, harp strums and jazzy piano renditions. If ‘The Batman’ (2022) is a noir, Catwoman’s theme is the musical proof.
The orchestration is very similar to Elfman’s theme for Catwoman in ‘Batman Returns’ (1992), but has a more playful, sexy and classic melody than Elfman’s tragic one. Giacchino’s melody also serves as kind of a love theme for Batman and Catwoman in the film.
The songs used in this suite are:
Don’t Be Voyeur With Me - Michael Giacchino
A Bat in the Rafters Pt. 2 - Michael Giacchino
Meow and You and Everyone We Know - Michael Giacchino
Catwoman - Michael Giacchino
