Jumping into #childofgod by #cormacmccarthy as we continue to explore his 4 #southern novels! As short as this novel is, it takes a toll in you as do all of McCarthy’s novels I think. Personally, I tend to feel a bit beat up and exhausted by the time I reach the end of one, and I usually have the lingerinf feeling that a huge amount of the text went over my head, but I also inevitably find his works, as dark as they are, to feel incredibly enriching of my inner life and landscape.
