In this video, we explore the concept of Exposing To The Right (ETTR) in modern photography, a technique that was once considered a staple in digital photography. With the advancement of camera technology and improved dynamic range, the question remains: does ETTR still make sense in today's photography landscape?
In this video I will take us back to an ETTR image shot in 2010 on a Nikon D3 before returning to the present day, shooting a range of overexposed images on the Sony a7Rv. In post production I will look at whether I can pull back an image that is two stops over exposed and compare the dynamic range and noise to that of the correct exposure.
