"They're not 𝘤𝘢𝘳𝘵𝘰𝘰𝘯𝘴, Dad! The proper term is 𝒶𝓃𝒾𝓂ℯ. They're 𝙢𝙖𝙙𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙅𝙖𝙥𝙖𝙣!" Well don't worry, Son, because Fox Family understands and has an entire four hour block dedicated to anime. It's called Made in Japan.
This is a compilation video I put together using footage of commercials and episodes from shows that played on Fox Family Channel's Made in Japan block (from 8 in the morning to noon on Sundays, although times varied) in the year 2001. Certain shows (like Digimon and Monster Ranchers) can't be used for copyright reasons. These shows were substituted with other great cartoons and shows that played on Fox Family Channel around the same time. Think of it as a retro remix or a bootleg Saturday morning broadcast.
This is the one hundred thirty-fifth video I've made like this and the fourth I've made on Fox Family. The original Fox Family Made in Japan block was four shows: Digimon, Monster Ranchers, Mega Man, and DinoZaurs. When it was on weekday mornings, it was a two hour block, but for Sunday mornings, it was a four hour block with two episodes of each show. However, due to copyright, Digimon and Monster Ranchers can't be used, so I decided to be a bit more inventive and create a custom lineup using anime shows that appeared on Fox Family or Fox Kids at around the same time period. To fill out the video, I included a two-part episode of Medabots. I'm actually amazed to find that Mega Man was technically a joint American-Japanese project co-produced by Ruby-Spears Productions and Ashi Productions. Maybe you'll learn some things with this video too, like the Japanese word for grandmother. At the very least, I hope you enjoy the video!
