The Shiva Shadakshara Stotram is a potent prayer dedicated to Lord Shiva, focusing on the six-lettered mantra "Aum Namah Shivaya." Hence, it is called Shad Akshara, meaning six letters.
In this Hexa-Syllabic Hymn, there is a unique stanza for each letter of Aum-Na-Ma-Shi-Va-Ya. It is believed that anyone who recites the Shiva Shadakshara Mantra daily, with devotion, faith, and concentration, in front of Lord Shiva will attain happiness and Moksha (liberation).
